About Frank
Frank “Food Boss” DiMattina can usually be found in the kitchen. A self-taught chef, restaurant/catering operator, and businessman, Frank was born in Brooklyn, NY, and raised in the culinary industry. Frank has worked in hospitality since he was a teen working in his family’s restaurants, including the acclaimed Italian eatery, Mark Frank’s in lower Manhattan.
Drawing inspiration from watching his parents and grandparents in their restaurants and home kitchens, cooking came natural to him from an early age. One of Frank’s earliest memories was being taught how to cook by his father in their kitchen in Brooklyn when he was only 5 years old.
Frank’s talent, knowledge, and drive eventually grew into developing his own personal brand and operating successful catering venues, private events, and corporate catering experiences in New York and New Jersey for the last 25 years. Named after his daughter, Frank currently owns and manages Ariana’s South catering venue and continues to include his family in all aspects of the business.
A dedicated food and cooking enthusiast, Frank always encourages his friends, family, and staff to enjoy preparing meals and most importantly, to have fun in the kitchen. His passion for simple, fresh, and quality ingredients influence all of his recipes both at home and professionally.
Today, Frank shares the experience of cooking in a lively, fun environment with his Food Boss series of videos featuring his popular dishes for friends and family. To date, Frank’s videos have received millions of views and continue to gain popularity and inspire and entertain the foodie community across all ages and demographics – including receiving celebrity attention.
In addition to managing and operating his catering venues, traveling for culinary inspiration, spending time with his family, and filming Food Boss videos, Frank supports several nonprofit organizations and community food drives.“We don’t only cook Italian!”
